The new vivo Y78 comes out as the brand’s latest, affordable midrange device that packs a punch.
vivo’s latest design language, which we first saw on the V27 series, continues to be the blueprint for the brand’s newer devices like the vivo Y78. It has a similar layout on the back, green and black colors options, and a pink variant with a unique feather-like accent.

A cheaper alternative to the Y78+, the new Y78 is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7020 octa-core processor, which you can pair with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
It also features a 6.64-inch FHD+ display with a fast 120Hz refresh rate, albeit the AMOLED screen on the Plus version was swapped with an IPS panel.

An 8-megapixel selfie camera sits on a punch-hole cutout. On the back, there’s a sharp 50-megapixel main camera joined by a 2-megapixel depth sensor.
Keeping the lights on is a 5,000mAh battery with 44W fast charging.

The vivo Y78 is available in 8GB/128GB, 8GB/256GB, and 12GB/256GB configurations for a price of CNY1,399 (~Php11,200), CNY1,699 (~Php13,600), and CNY1,999 (~Php16,100), respectively. They will be available in China starting May 13 with international release dates yet to be announced.
