It’s been a while since we last heard from BlackBerry, but it looks like they’re finally bringing the Z3 to Philippine shores. The BlackBerry Z3 is an affordable alternative to the BlackBerry Z1, featuring a similarly-sized 5 inch screen, though with a lower qHD (540 x 960) resolution. The price tag? Php10,990.

As far as specs go, the BlackBerry Z3 is pretty decent although far from spectacular. The handset will run on a dual core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 SoC with 1.5GB RAM and 8GB of internal storage. In case you fill up the usable storage, it’s expandable via microSD up to 32GB.

The BlackBerry Z3 is the company’s attempt at bringing the BlackBerry 10 platform to a more affordable price point. At Php10,990, it’s actually not bad. Keep in mind, this is an international brand we’re talking about, not a local one. However, it’s running on a zombie OS with a limited app ecosystem, especially when you compare it to the likes of Apple’s App Store or Google’s Play Store.
