A new partnership between Shopee and Meta is letting creators in Southeast Asia, Taiwan, and Brazil earn commissions by recommending products on Instagram.
It allows eligible creators to link their Shopee affiliate account to their Instagram professional account. From there, they can pick products to feature in their Reels or Feed posts. When someone watches the content and buys the product on Shopee, the creator gets a cut of the sale.
This is one of the first times Meta has rolled out this type of affiliate setup on Instagram outside the US. The companies previously launched a similar program on Facebook in 2025.
With this new Instagram feature, creators can:
- Add multiple Shopee products in one Reel or post
- Use a shopping icon and a special label that says “commission eligible”
- Make it easy for viewers to spot featured items and buy them without leaving the app

Brands and sellers on Shopee now have another way to reach buyers. By working with creators on Instagram, they can get their products in front of people who are already interested in what those creators have to say. The combination of creator influence and Shopee’s wide product range is meant to help more people discover and buy items.
Both companies said they are taking data protection seriously. Any information shared when linking accounts is handled according to local privacy laws. Creators can also unlink their accounts whenever they want.
Shopee and Meta are also trying out a new ad tool in a few Southeast Asian markets. With a creator’s permission, sellers can turn affiliate content into paid ads. Meta’s system then shows those ads to people who are most likely to be interested. The companies plan to expand this feature in the coming months if the tests go well.
