MSI has announced a curious new monitor, the MSI Pro Max OLED.
The MSI Pro Max OLED, with the model number 271UPJW12, is a 27-inch 4K OLED monitor that uses an inkjet-printed panel. Yes, you heard it right. It is said that inkjet printing is a new method of producing OLED screens and is a much cheaper process than what Samsung and LG do.
This new technology is being developed by TCL, who want to break the dominance of Samsung and LG. MSI boasts that its latest monitor “closely resembles the uniform RGB structure of traditional LCDs.”
The MSI Pro Max OLED also boasts a 120Hz refresh rate, up to 1,000-nit peak brightness, 99% DCI-P3 color gamut, and Delta E ≤ 2 color accuracy. It also received VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification and supports HDR. G-Sync and AMD FreeSync are also supported.
MSI’s new monitor also has built-in KVM and PIP/PBP support, and has USB-C ports with 15W Power Delivery and 98W PD for powering most laptops directly.
You also get a very flexible stand that has height adjustment, swivel, tilt, and pivot.
Pricing and availability for the MSI Pro Max OLED 271UPJW12 are yet to be announced.
