Ayaneo has unveiled the new Pocket S2 and Pocket S2 Pro, powered by a Qualcomm processor and running on Android, which can handle mobile games and simulated PC titles.
First introduced in March, noth the Ayaneo Pocket S2 and S2 Pro are among the first to use the Qualcomm Snapdragon G3 Gen 3 processor. This chip consists of a single 3.3Ghz prime core, five performance cores, and two efficiency cores. The Adreno A33 GPU is clocked at 1.05GHz.
As per Ayaneo, this new platform offers 30% faster CPU and 28% better GPU performance than its predecessor. To give you an idea, the device apparently scored over 2 million points on AnTuTu Benchmark.
The chipset is attached to a complex cooling system that consists of a 6630mm2 copper plate, 14295mm2 fin array, and a top-down fan. This allows the chip to have a maximum TDP of 20W.
Moving on, the duo has a 6.3-inch 2K IPS display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, 466 pixels per inch, 100% sRGB coverage, 990% DCI-P3, and 600-nit peak brightness.
The two differ in battery and charging. The cheaper Pocket S2 has an 8,000mAh battery, which supports 40W charging, while the Pocket S2 Pro has a 10,000mAh battery with 60W PD charging.
Going with the Pro also entitles you to a dual-color button with a detachable D-Pad/8-way D-Pad. There are also the Retro and B.Duck Pixel Memory colorways exclusive to the Pro.
For connectivity, both variants have full-function USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 with up to 10Gbps transfer speeds and DisplayPort 1.4, microSD card, 3.5mm headphone jack, dual-band WiFi, and Bluetooth 5.3.
For the software, the duo runs on AYASpace platform that includes extensive key remapping, different performance modes, device spoofing for enhanced graphics, and has a retro game management system.
It also supports keyboard and mouse emulation and Qualcomm Turnip drivers that make PC game emulation smoother.
The Ayaneo Pocket S2 is now available for pre-order in China and is up on Indiegogo for the international market. The Pocket S2 8GB/128GB retails for CNY2,999 (~Php23,900) while the Pocket S2 Pro 16GB/1TB has a price of CNY4,999 (~Php39,800).
