“To our Agents, Break the Code.”

This is how Blacklist International opened its shocking yet heartfelt farewell message as it announced its departure from the MPL scene after five years, transferring its franchise ownership to a new organization.

“Yet only five years later, those words have transformed. They have become thunderous cheers, a player’s rallying cry, and a movement that shook the foundations of an entire esports scene. All thanks to our beloved agents who have been with us on this incredible journey,” said Blacklist.

You may remember Blacklist International as a massive success in the Mobile Legends scene, especially during the pandemic, becoming one of the most-watched esports teams, popularizing the UBE (“Ultimate Bonding Experience”) strategy, winning several international MPL tournaments, and bringing honor to the country during their SEA games gold medal run.

The Facebook post said it was a difficult decision to make in response to the business opportunity presented, which aligns with Tier One Entertainment’s new direction that goes beyond esports.

However, Blacklist didn’t ultimately close the door, as they will remain open to reentering the league in the future but will use this time to reassess things.
