Runescape, which claims to be the most popular free-to-play MMORPG, has launched on mobile devices.

This new RuneScape for Android and iOS isn’t some spinoff or a separate take from the desktop version that developer Jagex has been regularly working on since 2001. In fact, this mobile version features cross-play and cross-progression, so players can switch between mobile and desktop and continue with the save adventure.

There are some differences in the user experience though, as the user interface have been revamped so everything looks pretty on the smaller screen. Combat mechanics works a bit differently on mobile too.

Be forewarned though, while the game has positive reviews on PC—a 9/10 on Steam—it’s rated 2.7/5 on Google Play, with users complaining over the unfixed bugs and aggressive monetization model.

But, hey, at least it’s free to download. So far, there are more than 1.8 players from iOS and Android combined who have pre-registered for the mobile version.
