To help Filipinos with the rising gas prices, the Philippine government will be giving out Php6,500 fuel subsidy to qualified operators and drivers of public utility vehicles (PUV).
According to the Department of Budget and Management, Php2.5 billion has already been released to the Department of Transportation (DOTr). Guidelines for the distribution of the assistance is set to be announced next week.
Who’s eligible for the fuel subsidy?

Over 377,000 beneficiaries from the transportation sector are expected to receive the subsidy. Aside from jeepney, tricycle, taxi, bus, van drivers and operators, those in the transport network vehicle service (TNVS) and delivery services are also covered.
According to Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Executive Director Tina Cassion, the beneficiaries will start receiving the assistance on March 15.
