Apple just wrapped up its main WWDC 2022 event after it launched newer versions of its operating systems and a couple of new laptops. Today, we’ll be taking a look at the latest version of the brand’s mobile software, iOS 16.
There’s a couple of good and bad news that surrounds iOS 16. Obviously, the update will bring a couple of major visual and usability improvements to iPhones. On the downside, a couple of older devices have been dropped from the official compatibility list.
We’ll be talking about the key improvements of the latest iOS devices and the list of compatible devices. Let’s begin.

The main new feature of the iOS 16 is the reimagined lock screen, which is now heavily customizable and lets you showcase your best photos, select font styles, and show widgets. Users also have the option to create multiple lock screens with their respective configurations.
New Focus

The Focus feature on iOS now has a more streamlined setup. With iOS 16, users can now select which apps or people they want to receive notifications from. You can also pair a Focus profile to a particular Lock Screen to easily switch between them via a simple swipe.
Messages

Apple also brought a couple of improvements to the Messages app. For one, you can now edit a sent message or unsend it all together. You can also mark an unread message so you can respond to it later.
SharePlay via Messages is now also available, as well as better collaboration as you can share notes, reminders, Safari tabs, and more.

Apple has also brought improvements to the Mail app on iOS 16 as it now has a better search engine and will allow you to undo send, schedule send, follow up, and even add rich links.
Siri shortcuts

You no longer have to tirelessly set up shortcuts when you install an app. Ask Siri to do it for you and it shall be done.
Fitness for iPhone

What used to be exclusive to Apple Watch users, the Fitness app is now present on iPhones thanks to iOS 16.
CarPlay

Apple has also announced an upgraded version of CarPlay, which is said to be more integrated and immersive. More details will be announced late next year.
