After dominating the Philippine market in terms of smartphone shipments, realme has been dethroned from the top spot by Transsion, the company behind Infinix and TECNO Mobile.

For the first quarter of 2023, Transsion took the top spot from realme with a 19% unit share. That’s just a 1% difference from realme‘s 18%.

Transsion jumped from being on the third spot during the previous quarter to two spots, even taking the two-year throne that realme had.

Their success could be attributed to Infinix‘s strong line-up like one of 2022’s best-sellers, the Zero 5G 2023. The Note 30 series have been a strong contender, either.

Meanwhile, TECNO Mobile has a couple of interesting releases like the Pouvoir 4 series, the Spark 10 series, and the flagship Phantom X2 series.

Going back to the list, Samsung also climbed the ranking by taking the third spot with 15% market share, followed by vivo which also had 15%, while OPPO fell last at 14%.

The question is, how long will Transsion keep the title? We’ll see after the Q2 figures come out sometime in July.
