HMD Global has officially started rolling out the Android 8.1 Oreo update of the Nokia 5 and Nokia 6, one month after the software upgrade for the Nokia 8 was released.

It seems like the company is keen on fulfilling its promise to avid Nokia fans and its users as they meet their schedule. Not only that, but they also beat other huge Android manufacturers in rolling out their updates.

Some of the improvements found on Android 8.1 Oreo is the new level 27 developer APIs and Neural Networks API. It also includes the latest security patches as well as bug fixes and optimizations in performance. Another change is the revamped settings, power menu, and battery saving navigation buttons.

The Android 8.1 Oreo V5.580 update of the Nokia 6 and Nokia 5 cost approximately 933MB and 866MB to download. Like other manufacturers, HMD Global and Nokia are doing a staged rollout, which means that the update won’t be available to all users simultaneously. Instead, it will be released in select markets and users gradually.

HMD Global has previously confirmed that both Nokia 2 and Nokia 3 will also be getting the Android Oreo treatment. So for those who are using the said devices, it’s just a matter of time before you get yours.
