Twitter-alternative Bluesky was released last year on an invite-only basis. Now, it’s available for everyone.

Bluesky, just like Twitter, is a microblogging platform, which is backed by Jack Dorsey, Twitter’s co-founder and former CEO after business magnate Elon Musk took over.

The platform was a big hit last year and everybody wanted to go on board, possibly because of how toxic Twitter got or simply because exclusivity is attractive for some people.

Now, the platform has released an update that removes the invitation system for signing up so you can create your own account easily.

As per Bluesky CEO Jay Graber, they initially went with invitation-based access to make sure they have enough time to polish their moderation tools and infrastructure before they make it available for everyone.

Graber boasted that it garnered more than 3 million sign-ups since it came out in early 2023 and maintains 1.6 million monthly active users.
