TikTok owner ByteDance has its crosshairs at Instagram after launching its own photo-sharing social media platform, Whee.
Whee is being marketed as a platform for sharing photos only with your closest friends. “Capture and share real-life photos that only your friends can see, allowing you to be your most authentic self,” the app’s Google Play description reads.

The app listing shows a built-in camera app with filters, messaging with friends, list of friend requests, and the ability to like and comment on posts. Like Instagram, there’s also an archive function that lets you “travel back to memories.”
As of writing, the app is now available for iPhones and is at #53 in the social networking category. It is also now up on the Google Play Store for Android devices with already 10,000+ downloads.
