In an interview with 24 Oras, sleep specialist Dr. Christine Celine Tan said that not getting enough sleep can impact your physical health, physical well-being, and even mental health. Those who lack proper sleep will also have a harder time focusing, will find it harder to start working, and in the long run, experience cognitive deficits.
“Yung pinaka basic would be having a regular time that you sleep. Ngayon kasi sobrang busy natin ‘di ba? So parang whatever time is left dun ka na lang matutulog. Right now, I think, we should change that mindset,” the expert advised.
“Avoid any distractions when it’s time to go to sleep. We try to tell patients not to use their phone in bed, not to watch TV in bed, so yung kama natin for sleep lang talaga,” Tan added.
