Lalamove, best known for its delivery service platform, is entering the ride-hailing services industry by launching Lalamove Ride.
The new on-demand transportation service will try to challenge the current dominance of Grab, as well as other TNVS like JoyRide and inDrive.
According to Lalamove, “This addition complements our suite of on-demand, same-day parcel delivery services already popular in the Philippines—Metro Manila and Pampanga.”
You can choose between a CAR (Sedan 4-Seater) or CAR XL (SUV/MPV 6-Seater). It also includes all the common features of other ride-hailing apps, like in-app chat functionality, real-time sharing of GPS position, and accidental insurance.

How to book your first Lalamove Ride
To book a ride, here are the steps:
Step 1: Plan your route
In your Lalamove App, click ‘Ride,’ then enter your pick-up and drop-off locations. You can also choose between a 4-passenger Sedan and a 6-passenger SUV/MPV. If applicable, you can select the discounted version for PWDs, students, and senior citizens.

Step 2: Confirm your ride
After confirming your pick-up and destination locations and the car type, tap “Confirm.”
Step 3: Review your ride order
Enter your contact number and choose your preferred payment method (cash, credit card, or debit card). You may also apply discount coupons. You may also add notes for special requests to your driver.

Step 4: Wait for your driver and enjoy the ride
Once you have reviewed your ride details, a Lalamove Ride driver will pick you up. You may also use the app to track their arrival. Afterward, enjoy your safe ride.
Step 5: Rate your trip
Don’t forget to rate your trip.
Lalamove Ride is a welcome addition to the current poor state of public transportation in Metro Manila. With new players coming in to challenge Grab’s dominance in the region, competition will be fiercer, which may result in cheaper rides.
