Mark Zuckerberg is probably the personification of Tony Stark.
In a note post yesterday, Zuckerberg detailed how he built his home artificial intelligence (AI) system – a project he made as a personal challenge during the start of 2016. The man is back again to show us a hilarious demo video, revealing an ideal concept of how Jarvis works.
The video starts with Mark waking up in the morning and Jarvis telling him about his meetings and the current room temperature. The AI also checks on his child, monitoring her sleep and wake up times, and entertaining her while the parents are busy.
Jarvis can also make Zuckerberg’s bread breakfast, recognize visitors, as well as play songs and movies. Since he wears the same grey T-shirt everyday, he built a T-shirt cannon to throw him a new one on his command.
However, do note that it doesn’t work as smoothly as the video portrays. It’s the idealized version, but Zuckerberg’s AI system kinda work the same way. And by comparison to the actual Jarvis in Iron Man, it’s no match. But who knows, someday Facebook‘s CEO will probably hit that level.
Probably one of the best highlights of the video is Morgan Freeman’s role as the voice of Jarvis. He just makes everything sound great and relaxing.
Mark controls Jarvis through voice commands and a mobile app specifically built for it.
Priscilla, Mark’s wife, has endured several mishaps during the time that her husband was building Jarvis. Mark has posted a second video in which Priscilla tells the story of how Jarvis came to be. Apparently, Arnold Schwarzenegger was the original voice behind Jarvis. It sounded a bit aggressive, that’s why it got changed to what it is now.
Mark Zuckerberg ends his post by asking Facebook users of inputs on how he can improve his home AI Jarvis. Hopefully someday we get to see the same technology in our homes.
