ASUS has released the new Zenfone 12 Ultra earlier than usual with all the upgrades you’d expect from a 2025 flagship.
The new ASUS Zenfone 12 Ultra is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite, the same chip found on the ROG Phone 9 and 9 Pro. It offers up to 45% CPU, and 40% GPU and NPU performance boost and can be had with up to 16GB of speedy LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 4.0 storage.
Like most modern flagships, AI is a big deal here. It has both on-device and Cloud AI features and has Meta’s Llama 3 8B model.
It has features like AI Call Translator 2.0, AI Transcript 2.0, and more. Most of these AI tools are geared towards professionals and clerical work.
On the front, we have a fancy 6.78-inch LTPO OLED screen with up to 144Hz refresh rate on select games, 2500 nits of peak brightness, and has Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection.
A beefy 5,500mAh battery keeps the light on, with support for 65W and 15W wireless charging. A full charge only takes about 39 minutes, as per ASUS.
For the cameras, we have a 50-megapixel Sony LYTIA-700 sensor with 6-axis hybrid gimbal stabilizer 4.0. It also has a 32-megapixel 3x telephoto lens with OIS, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and 32-megapixel selfie snapper.
ASUS also highlights its IP68 dust and water resistance rating, and the fact that they used 100% recycled aluminum from the frame and 22% recycled glass for the display.
The ASUS Zenfone 12 Ultra is now listed in Europe for a starting price of EUR1,099 (~Php66,200). Release details in countries like the Philippines are yet to be known.
