Chine mobile devices giant, Gionee, has expressed their intentions in manufacturing in India.
The company says that they are just awaiting on the clarity of the government policy, as they proclaim that they are ready to manufacture in India – straight from Gionee’s President William Lu.
At present, Gionee manufactures around 60 million units on their headquarters in Shenzhen, China. The company said that it’s best to take quick actions to manufacture in India once clarity on their policies become clear.
It depends at what stage the (Indian) government plans to facilitate manufacturing, as far as we are concerned, we are ready at every stage.”
“We have to find vendors for our produce. If the need is for an assembly line we are ready now but would rather go for deep manufacturing.”

The Chinese brand currently has a 4.5 million customer base throughout the globe, and produced over 30 million during the year. The target for 2015 is 45 million. Afterwards, Gionee plans to scale up even more from 60 million to 75-80 million in the upcoming years.
