Apple basically revealed that it will be announcing the next iPhones on September 12 after it sent out invites to the media. Not to be left out, Google announced that it will also be unveiling the Pixel 8 series on October 4.
Google went further and unveiled the Pixel 8 series and the new Watch 8 with a sneak peek video, not leaving anything to the imagination in terms of their design. You can check the teaser video below.
But fully showcasing the design might be a good thing since it looks exactly the same as its predecessors, albeit with minor enhancements in some areas.
For one, the Pro model has an extra sensor below the LED flash, which has been rumored to be an infrared thermometer. That’s an exclusive feature to lure you to get the higher model.
The Pro model is still larger, no surprises there. It also has a triple rear camera setup while the standard Pixel 8 only has two.
Now, what we’re excited about is the specs. For this year, it is expected to have an updated Tensor G3 processor, better camera sensors, and LTPO OLED displays. Of course, they will be the first devices to come with the upcoming Android 13.
As for the Pixel Watch 2, well, it’s essentially the same, as seen in its quick appearance in the video above. Let’s just wait and see what’s underneath the surface. But we suspect Google’s IR thermometer sensor will also come here.
More details about the new Google Pixel 8 series and Watch 2 shall be out on October 2, so stay tuned for that.
