Huawei Philippines just confirmed the arrival of its top-tier smartphone in the country.
In a Facebook post, the company teased the launch of the Huawei P50 Pro in the Philippines. Other than the “Coming soon” status, the company is yet to reveal the official launch date and its price.
The Huawei P50 Pro has all the bells and whistles you’d expect from a flagship smartphone — sans the 5G connectivity. When it came out in China way back in July, the device is said to come in two variants. There’s one with a Kirin 9000 chipset, and another with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 4G which is the one we’re getting here in the Philippines.
As per the company’s local website, the variant they’ll release will come with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It will also come in Cocoa Gold and Golden Black colors.

The rest of the specs sheet looks really top-notch, especially the cameras. Being a Huawei flagship, a lot of thought was put into its cameras. This one has a 50-megapixel main shooter with True-Chroma technology and OIS. There’s also an ultra-sharp 40-megapixel mono lens, 13-megapixel ultra-wide, and a 64-megapixel telephoto lens that’s also equipped with OIS.
On the front, we have a 13-megapixel selfie-snapper on top of the fancy 6.6-inch OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. Keeping the lights on is a 4,360mAh battery paired with 66W wired and 50W wireless charging support.

Again, no price has been mentioned yet. But to give you an idea, the Huawei P50 Pro 8GB/256GB came out in China for CNY6,488. That’s around Php51,000 when directly converted to Philippine pesos. No word yet if the vanilla Huawei P50 will also land in the country.
