Huawei has come up with a way to fix smartphones’ most common blemish—scratches—as it files a patent that will pave way for a means to keep our gadgets in pristine condition.

The word came after the giant tech company reportedly applied for a patent which promises a “method and equipment for removing scratches on glass.”

As per the patent specification, the equipment will feature a scratch-detecting capability from front to back.

Upon detection of disfiguration on the device’s surface area, a cleaning procedure will take place and will vary depending on the location of the deface. The front glass can be easily stripped off of impurities with the use of alcohol, while the back panel will require an ultrasonic cleaner.

After the cleanse, a special mixture consistent of acrylate (30% to 45%), epoxy resin (50% to 60%), initiator (2% to 3%), and additives (2% to 3%) is applied via a transparent film and is exposed to 320 ~ 420nm wavelength ultraviolet light for final treatment.
