This special look made Windows Phone distinct and stand out, especially for the Nokia Lumia phones in the past.
And with nostalgia being a key factor in selling products these days, HMD Global is reportedly working to bring back the tile interface.
According to a reputable X account called smashx_60, it could be a refreshing take on the old Nokia X Software platform and Windows Phone feel, and more importantly, a major departure from the usual and uniform look of Android launchers.
It’s a testament to HMD’s love of honoring Nokia’s heritage as they continue to revive classic Nokia phones, from feature phones of the past to some of their later Windows-powered smartphones.
More evidence of this move is previous reports that HMD is thinking of acquiring the Lumia trademark and Microsoft-related patents.
