A brotherly banter over video game turned extremely dark with one of them getting killed by the other.

As reported by GMA Regional TV last Wednesday, a man from Villasis, Pangasinan, stabbed his older brother eight times after arguing over an online video game.

The victim was a 34-year-old Michael Verzola, a former Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW), killed by his younger brother, Johnny Verzola, who was immediately arrested and said to be very regretful of what he did.

What’s worse, the tragedy apparently happened on their father’s birthday. The two argued over a video game, which led to provocation and ended with one of them dead.

As per Police Major Christian Alucod: “Nagkaroon ng misunderstanding hanggang sa dumating sa punto na chinallenge ng victim yung suspect na lika magpatayan tayo,”.

Apparently, the victim used a panabas, a long and forward-curved ax usually used by farmers, while the latter used a smaller sharp object.
