And just when I thought we’ve seen the last of the of the Nokia brand, Microsoft just recently announced three new phones in the Lumia line! First up is in the 7xx family, namely the 730 and 735. The other set is in the 8xx line, namely the 830.

Billed as the “affordable flagship”, their improvement over their predecessors are significant.

Nokia Lumia 830 Specs

  • 5.0″ IPS LCD Corning Gorilla Glass 3 capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors, HD resolution (720 x 1280 pixels), ~294 ppi pixel density)
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 Quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A7 CPU with Adreno 305 GPU
  • 10MP main camera with PureView technology with autofocus and LED flash, 0.9MP front camera
  • 1GB RAM, 16GB internal expandable via microSD card up to 128GB
  • Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, GPS+GLONASS+Baidu, LTE
  • Li-Ion 2200 mAh battery
  • Windows Phone 8.1

Like the Lumia 930, it also comes with the Dolby Digital Plus sound enhancement and Rich Recording features. As a standard with all Lumia phones, we also get 15GB of free OneDrive storage. As a bonus, it looks similarly to its big brother, albeit it’s thinner and lighter.

We also don’t need to wait that long since it’s coming out globally this month for EU330 (roughly
PHP 19,000) which is a far cry from the Lumia 930’s price point. It’ll come in orange, green, white and black. I’m excited to get my hands on one :-)
