Startup companies sprout like mushrooms, with an estimated 50 million launching every year. But only around one in five manage to last past their first year. Given the challenging reality and intense competition, companies like OPPO are a godsend for providing crucial support and helping these startups thrive.

Recognizing the importance of nurturing innovation, OPPO extends a comprehensive package of funding, technology, and marketing assistance to startups. According to Yan Ren, the director of Open Innovation Europe at OPPO, this support enables the startups to overcome common obstacles, realize their innovative potential, and contribute to society.

Among the beneficiaries of OPPO’s support are startups like AlpsenTek, HUAYI, and CloudSteth, each making significant strides in their respective fields. AlpsenTek, for instance, has capitalized on OPPO’s support to work on machine vision technology. Its hybrid vision sensor APLIX-Eiger is leveraging AI algorithms to correct details affected by motion blur and perform other enhancements to produce realistic and lifelike images.

DeepMirror, another startup in OPPO’s innovation network, has been making a name for itself in the augmented reality (AR) space. With OPPO’s backing, DeepMirror was able to showcase at the global stage MWC24 its latest AR game, which is powered by its cloud-based service MirrorVerse. The company has demonstrated the immersive experiences AR technology can bring to gaming and real-world interactions.

In the healthcare sector, OPPO-backed Huayi Medical Technologies is making strides with technologies and products for contactless health monitoring. Its core tech known as WonTrackR makes use of millimeter wave technology, radar signal processing, and AI modeling to enable devices to measure health metrics at home without being intrusive.

OPPO said its support for startups is not a mere one-off but a permanent mission. Its collaboration with these companies yielded innovative features on its own products, such as digital therapeutic solutions for its smartwatches and alternative materials for the phone case of the Find N2 Flip.
