Kodak, one of the most prominent names in the photography industry, is also joining the smartphone game as it partners with Realme.
After we’ve seen the names of ZEISS and Leica on smartphone cameras, we might see the Kodak branding on Realme phones soon, too.
It’s said that the first Realme device to have Kodak technology will be the rumored GT Master Edition.
Xu Qi Chase, Realme VP, posted a picture on his personal Weibo account that’s apparently taken from an unreleased device. It’s a black and white photo with the Realme watermark on the bottom, but the device model is blurred out.

A known leakster also hinted that Realme’s collaboration with a prominent photography company is in the works, and the Realme GT Master Edition will be the first fruit of the partnership.

Meanwhile, another tipster confirmed that it’s indeed Kodak. A brand that used to be one of the biggest in the photography industry until it filed for bankruptcy in 2012 and diverted its energy in developing hardware and software solutions for commercial printing.

If true, this isn’t the first time Kodak dipped its toes in the smart-tech era. If you remember, the company launched the Kodak IM5, its first smartphone, back in 2015. There’s also the Kodak Ektra in 2016 and even a tablet with the Kodak Tablet 7 and 10.

Personally, as a user, I would not like such a photo with a watermark. In any case, I don’t think it’s a problem right now. Modernity gives us cool tools, it’s enough to use them, and with the help of watermark remover from softorbits, you can easily get rid of it
