vivo Philippines has confirmed that the first member of the vivo V40 series is coming to the Philippines.
It feels like yesterday when we reviewed the V30, V30 Pro, and the V30e. Now, the company’s local arm has confirmed that the vivo V40 5G is on its way to the Philippines. The launch event is set for September 18, 2024.
For a quick recap, the V40 5G, alongside the V40 Pro 5G, was introduced overseas back in early August. It features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 octa-core processor, a 120Hz FHD+ AMOLED display with HDR10+ support, and a large 5,500mAh battery with 80W fast charging.
Like its predecessors, photography is a major deal here. All three cameras have sharp 50-megapixel sensors. The main one has optical image stabilization, the other is for the ultra-wide lens, and the third one is for selfies.
vivo has also improved the Aura Light ring flash on the back, which is now 33% brighter. It still has ZEISS optics.
Of course, the term “AI” is widely used in photography. There’s the AI Aura Light Portrait, AI 3D Studio Lighting, and the familiar AI Erase feature that lets you remove distractions in a photo, whether it’s a human or an object. AI Photo Enhance is also a nice feature that can easily upscale a photo and remove noise and grains.
We’ll have the official price and availability of the vivo V40 5G on the 18th, so stay tuned for that. Sadly, it seems like it will be launching solo as there’s no word if the Pro model is coming along with it.
