Xiaomi has taken the wraps off its new smart TV, the Mi TV 2S. In addition, the company has unveiled the Mi Water Purifier.
The Xiaomi Mi TV 2S is an Android 5.0 smart TV that’s powered by an MStar 6A928 chipset with four Cortex A17 processing cores and Mali-T760 MP4 graphics. Its display panel, made by Samsung, measures 48 inches diagonally and has an incredible 4K resolution. The predecessor Mi TV 2, in comparison, only has a 40-inch display and Full HD resolution.
Available in five colors (blue, gold, green, pink and black), the Xiaomi Mi TV 2S is also notable for its amazingly thin aluminium frame. While common in tablets and smartphones, the 9.9mm thickness is not something you normally see in larger electronics. And to show off its prowess, here are some sample pictures that show the clarity, color and contrast capabilities of the Mi TV 2S versus products by Samsung, Sharp, and Sony:
As for sound, Dolby Audio technology powers the independent/standalone sound system that comes with the TV. This system consists of six full-range speakers, two silk tweeters, a 6.5-inch subwoofer and a 6.5-inch passive radiator.
The Mi Water Purifier speaks for itself. It eradicates impurities from tap water to make it potable. Basically, it begins filtering rust, hair, dust and fibers using a cotton filter. It then proceeds to remove smaller impurities and microorganisms using coconut carbon filters and a reverse osmosis membrane. The Mi Water Purifier exceeds industry standards and produces up to 400 gallons of potable water in a day.
