Smart Communications, via a partnership with 118 key operators globally, is making its 5G Roaming service accessible to consumers across 70 countries, further cementing the network provider’s superiority in the service.
As the campaign expands its reach for providing fast data speeds to consumers, the effort serves the company’s commitment to bringing quality service to customers across the world.
Smart’s Vice President of Wireless Core and International Business Group, Chet Alviz, highlights the network provider’s “ever-growing list of international telco partners” about the feat.
With a long list of supported countries in its list, Smart is paving the way for fast internet connectivity wherever the customers may be in the world, including prominent destinations such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Singapore, Japan, Germany, France, China, Canada, Austria, and Australia.
However, to take advantage of Smart’s 5G service, customers must own and use their Smart 5G SIMs with their compatible devices, lest consumers will have to settle for the more dated and less capable technology, like Long-Term Evolution (LTE)/4G.
Customers who are traveling overseas and would like to subscribe to Smart’s 5G service, must visit gigaroam.smart.com.ph and pick a plan that corresponds to their roaming demands.
By virtue of the expansion drive, PLDT Group—the owner of Smart Communications—is contributing to the United Nations’ push for global transformation, the Sustainable Development Goal #9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure.
