Elon Musk, the tech billionaire behind Tesla and SpaceX, may include social media in the list of industries he’s in.
Musk said that he’s giving “serious thought” to building a new social media platform after being asked on Twitter if he’s considering creating a new one that uses an open-source algorithm, prioritizes free speech, and with minimal propaganda.
Given that Twitter serves as the de facto public town square, failing to adhere to free speech principles fundamentally undermines democracy.

Recently, Musk has been critical of Twitter’s policies and even said that the platform is undermining democracy by not adhering to free speech principles.
In fact, Musk’s comment came after he put up a Twitter poll asking users if the platform adheres to free speech principles. More than 70% of the people voted “No”.
If Musk decides to push through with it, he will be going against the top-dogs like Meta’s Facebook and other platforms, Twitter, and Google. While a lot of platforms tried to compete, none have matched the trio’s popularity in the mainstream.
O hope you go full throttle for this platform Elon
