Welcome to the internet, where you discover new trends every day. In the past weeks, you might have noticed people posting screenshots or memes of what seems like a Lego-graphics gardening game.
This is the current hit server on the popular game Roblox, “Grow a Garden,” and the title says it all. The objectives are simple: cultivate your patch of land and watch (or perhaps compete) with other players as they progress in their own space.
Unlike other farming or gardening simulation games, such as cozy titles including Harvest Moon or Stardew Valley, Grow a Garden doesn’t present any complex mechanics other than stalls for buying seeds and selling plants, purchasing furniture and tools, and eggs that hatch into pets.

The twist is on the game’s tagline of “growing offline,” allowing players to safely leave the server without stressing that they have not watered or tended to their plants. Once the player jumps back in, rest assured that their plants are ready to harvest and sell.
It’s safe to say that it is an idle genre of game that not only kids (who are Roblox’s primary players) but even adults are having fun with. Players take pride in who has the most beautiful garden or the most sheckles (in-game currency). Still, some do not find the appeal and would only enter the server to appease their curiosity over this sudden internet sensation.
In case you’re not familiar, Roblox is a gaming platform with over a million users of all ages. Aside from Grow a Garden, players from various genres develop millions of games on this platform.
