Xiaomi announced a new gaming-centric tablet in China, the Redmi K Pad.
The Redmi K Pad was introduced alongside the K80 Ultra, Xiaomi AI Glasses, and more at a big event in the brand’s home country.
Made for gaming, the K Pad has a speedy 165Hz refresh rate. It has an 8.8-inch IPS screen with a 16:10 aspect ratio and 1.8K resolution. It’s quite small, but the compact size should make gaming more comfortable.
It then has two USB-C ports: one on the side, one on the bottom. This lets you enjoy games in whichever orientation while charging. Oh, and don’t worry about playing while plugged in, as it supports bypass charging that sends power directly to the motherboard to keep the battery healthy and prevent overheating.
That said, charging has 67W speeds that feed the 7,500mAh battery. We also got an 8-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls, and a single 13-megapixel shooter on the back.
Powering the device is a MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ processor that you can pair with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. It is attached to a large 12,050mm2 vapor chamber to keep things cool.
The Redmi K Pad has a price of CNY2,799 (~Php22,100) for the 8GB/256GB model, CNY3,099 (~Php24,500) for the 12GB/256GB, CNY3,399 (~Php26,800) for the 12GB/512GB, CNY3,599 (~Php28,400) for the 16GB/512GB, and CNY4,199 (~Php33,200) for the 16GB/1TB model. International release details are yet to be known.
