The all-new Xiaomi 15T Pro has large shoes to fill. The brand’s sub-flagship line has a track record of providing incredible value for money for those who want a budget-friendly premium phone, with the least number of compromises possible.

It may not be the sleekest nor have the most ludicrous camera setups, but the series proved that you can get all the essential features of a flagship, sans the typical flagship price tag.

Design and Build Quality

Aesthetics haven’t always been a priority for the series. The Xiaomi 15T Pro still looks a lot like the Xiaomi 14T Pro. The triple cameras and the LED flash are still in a square camera island. But now, all of them are buried and not protruding as much as the older version.

Xiaomi-15T-Pro-Review

The device is available in Mocha Gold, Gray, and the one we have, Black. The rear panel has a solid fiberglass material with a matte texture that stays clean from lint and fingerprint marks. It has minuscule shimmering materials that add a bit of flair to the rather boring design.

The gold option is part of Xiaomi’s Gold Collection that includes specific colorways from other Xiaomi products such as the 15T, Watch S4, OpenWear Stereo Pro, and Smart Band 10.

Looks might be a bit of downer, but the build quality feels really solid. It boasts a 6M13 aluminum alloy frame that makes it extra tough and remains firm even after a few light bend tests.

The Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, which is already durable, was complemented by a pre-applied screen protector. The IP68 certification keeps it safe against daily minor accidents. Xiaomi claims it can survive submersions of up to 3 meters of water depth. We tested it and the device turned out fine.

Xiaomi-15T-Pro-Review-5922

While it’s sturdy, it’s still best to use it with a protective case for better longevity. The matte case hides the design, which is fine since you won’t be missing much.

The case is ultra-thin, which makes us worry about how well it can handle drops. On the upside, it barely adds thickness to the device. It’s a bit heavy, too, but the flat frame does improve grip.

A large 6.83-inch AMOLED screen is on the front, with a 32-megapixel selfie camera on top in a punch-hole cutout. The bezels are uniform and ultra-thin.

Xiaomi-15T-Pro-Review-5904

There’s no IR blaster or noise-isolating microphone on top, which is kind of disappointing. But Xiaomi did say it has a 3-microphone array.

The primary loudspeaker is at the bottom, joined by the USB-C port, microphone, and the SIM tray that can house two nano SIMs.

Xiaomi-15T-Pro-Review-5891

There’s also the thick camera island on the back. The top one houses the 50-megapixel main camera, and next to it is the ultra-wide. Below are the telephoto and color sensors. The pill-shaped LED flash is on the right.

Display and Audio

The Xiaomi 15T Pro features a 6.83-inch AMOLED screen with a 2772 x 1280 resolution, ~447ppi, 144Hz adaptive refresh rate, up to 2560Hz touch sampling rate, 3200-nit peak brightness, DC dimming, and support for HDR10+ and Dolby Vision.

It has an Advanced Textures feature that adds rendering effects but can increase battery consumption. You can enable the Super Resolution to upscale videos, AI HDR enhancement, and MEMC, which makes videos smoother.

We got vibrant colors from the display, the brightness can keep up with sunny outdoors, and the smoothness of the high refresh rate is really felt.

Xiaomi-15T-Pro-Display-Review

The 15T Pro has stereo speakers. It also has support for Dolby Atmos, Hi-Res Audio, and Hi-Res Wireless.

Audio quality from the stereo speakers is above average, but nothing too special. Treble is clean, bass is full, and the stereo separation is audible.

Hardware and Performance

The Xiaomi 15T Pro comes with a 3nm Dimensity 9400+ processor — MediaTek’s most powerful chip and a proper upgrade over the 14T Pro’s Dimensity 9300+. It has an Immortalis-G720 GPU, 12GB of LPDDR5x RAM, and an option between 256GB and 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage. No SD card slot for storage expansion here.

Xiaomi 15T Pro Benchmark Scores

As the benchmark results show, the Xiaomi 15T Pro can go head-to-head even with flagship phones in the market. That translates to seamless and no-compromise speed, no matter what you throw at it.

Multitasking, navigation, messaging, web browsing — pretty much everything is just a breeze on this device.

Xiaomi-15T-Pro-Gaming-Review

Genshin Impact is smooth under High settings at 60 frames per second. PUBG Mobile is also very fluid under HDR graphics at Extreme frames, as well as Call of Duty Mobile with Max, and Farlight84 using the highest available settings.

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang had no problems under maxed out graphics settings, and the same goes with Asphalt Legends Unite.

To no one’s surprise, the Xiaomi 15T Pro is great for gaming. You can use it smoothly without having to worry about performance and overheating.

Software and User Interface

While our review unit came with Android 15-based HyperOS 2, future retail units should ship with the latest HyperOS 3 based on Android 16, as the company confirmed that it’s coming very soon. Xiaomi promised it will receive 5 years of major OS upgrades and 6 years of security patches.

Xiaomi’s HyperOS is intuitive and easy to use. Although the lack of an app search bar is annoying, it’s best to enable the app drawer in the settings.

If you’re deep into Xiaomi’s ecosystem, you’d appreciate its interconnectivity features. It serves as a hub for your Xiaomi phones, tablets, wearables, and more. It allows you to continue app tasks, share clipboards, and more, as long as all runs on HyperOS.

Xiaomi Share is also here, but Android’s Quick Share (also available) is more universally compatible. NFC, Link To Windows, and Wireless display casting can also be used.

Google Gemini serves as the default AI assistant. Other AI features typically seen on 2025 phones are also here.

There’s the AI Writer, AI Gallery Editor, AI Speech Recognition, AI Translate for face-to-face conversations, AI Interpreter for calls, and AI Subtitles.

The optical fingerprint scanner was very quick, but the face unlock was faster, even in dark rooms.

Xiaomi has included a built-in storage cleaner that analyzes the system for cache files, unused packages, and more to free up storage. Virtual RAM Expansion is also here, borrowing up to 6GB of space from the storage for a performance boost. Unlike others, the allocation cannot be changed.

Cameras

The Xiaomi 15T Pro features a 50-megapixel Light Fusion 900 sensor with optical image stabilization and a bright f/1.63 aperture. We also have a 50-megapixel JN2 from Samsung that offers 5x lossless zoom, OIS, and f/3.0. There’s also a 12-megapixel ultra-wide and 32-megapixel selfie camera.

Xiaomi-15T-Pro-Camera-Review

Leica is a prominent name thrown around the camera department. It has the Leica VARIO-SUMMILUX 1:1.62-3.0/15-115 ASPH and a couple of Leica color treatments and Leica filters on the software.

It can record 8K videos at 30fps, 4K at 30fps/60fps/120fps, 1080p at 30fps/60fps, and 720p at 30fps. All rear cameras can record at HDR1+ and support LUTs.

Daylight shots from the 50-megapixel main camera are pleasing. Imperfections in the post-processing are noticeable in some of the shots when you zoom in. We’ve noticed unrealistic sharpening. But in most of the samples, details look sharp and realistic.

Dynamic range was also handled well, and the colors are vibrant yet still close to real life.

That same sensor is used for the 2x shots, which is great for portraits. The large sensor allows for a sharp image, despite the digital crop. Contrast is a little off in some of the shots. But shots generally look good.

The main camera is a decent performer in low light. The slow shutter affects the sharpness in most of the shots, but if you have a decent lighting source, the photos could get really detailed. Dynamic range is on-point, too.

Next stop, we have a 50-megapixel telephoto camera with OIS. It has a 115mm focal equivalent that offers 5x optical zoom. The sharp sensor also allows for a 10x optical zoom. The magnification can reach up to 100x.

Shots at 5x zoom are best paired with the portrait mode, perfect for framing subjects with additional contexts from the foreground. It’s also great for highlighting architectures. We got plenty of details, nice colors, and clean dynamic range. The OIS was also effective for zoomed-in shots.

If you’re curious, the 100x zoom has decent quality thanks to extensive post-processing.

From 50-megapixel sensors, the ultra-wide lens only comes with a 12-megapixel shooter. Quite disappointing. Still, you can get good shots with ample details during the day. But at night, not so much. Colors look a little stale, and the dynamic range is a bit underwhelming.

The 32-megapixel front-facing camera has HDR10+ support and 4K@30fps video recording.

Selfies look really sharp and have realistic skin tones. However, exposure is noticeably low. Low-light shots have substantially poor details, too.

The Xiaomi 15T Pro has a great camera for the price, which could be even better with an optimized software. Let’s hope that Xiaomi is working on better camera optimizations along with the Android 16-based HyperOS 3 update.

Battery and Charging

The Xiaomi 15T Pro sports a 5,500mAh battery with support for 90W HyperCharge wired and 50W wireless HyperCharge technology.

Our benchmark test shows impressive battery life and easily puts it in the top five on all the high-end phones we’ve tested this year. Despite the fairly “low” 5,500mAh battery capacity, hardcore users can easily get a whole day of use (or more) on a single charge.

Xiaomi-15T-Pro-Charging

Charging speeds are also pretty good. The 90W adapter provided a 0 to 41% charge in just 15 minutes, with a full charge taking around 40 minutes.

  • 15mins: 0-41%
  • 30mins: 77%
  • 41mins: FULL

Verdict

The Xiaomi 15T Pro has successfully retained the same winning formula that its predecessors are known for. The goal is to provide the best essentials as possible, without worrying about being too fancy and expensive.

Xiaomi-15T-Pro-Review-5916

That’s why it has a forgettable design. But once you get past that, you’d be treated to a solid build quality, great display and audio, reliable performance, and long battery life.

Photography and video recording may not be the best in business, but the hardware shows great potential that they could still improve. And of course, there’s the powerful chipset that provides a flagship-grade performance for less.

Xiaomi-15T-Pro-Review-5930

If you want a premium phone that’s reasonably priced, there aren’t a lot of phones like the Xiaomi 15T Pro out there, especially in this price range.
