Danish audio company Bang & Olufsen is celebrating a major milestone: its 100th anniversary. Founded in 1925, the brand is marking the occasion with a special release called the Centennial Collection. This new lineup includes three limited edition products that feature unique color schemes inspired by the company’s long history.
The collection was announced this week and is now available for purchase through the company’s official online store.
The flagship product is the Bang & Olufsen Beoplay H100 headphones in a new “Century Brown” color. The design combines a silver aluminum finish with brown leather for a classic, retro appearance. The headphones come with a matching brown leather carrying case that has blue accents. Technically, they are the same as the standard H100 model. They feature active noise cancellation powered by 10 microphones.
For home listening, the company unveiled the Bang & Olufsen Beosound A9 speaker in “Century Blue.” This large, round speaker measures 70 centimeters in diameter. Its design pairs a silver aluminum body and metal feet with a dark blue fabric cover made by the Danish textile company Kvadrat. Inside, it packs seven drivers, including a large 200 millimeter woofer, and amplifiers with a combined power of 1,500 watts. The speaker can automatically adjust its sound to fit the room it is placed in.
The more portable option is the Bang & Olufsen Beosound A5 in “Century Brown.” This speaker has a built-in handle and a rechargeable battery that lasts for up to twelve hours. It is equipped with four drivers and a 280 watt amplifier, and it can reach a volume of up to 101 decibels.
