Samsung, one of the biggest names in smart TVs, now owns the title of having the World’s Brightest TV.
The company recently announced a Samsung 77-inch QD-OLED TV with a peak brightness of 4,500 nits — the highest on any smart TV.
Samsung achieved this by merging the peak luminance of each RGB component. Compared to OLED panels that only rely on white subpixels, this approach helps the TV achieve higher brightness levels while also improving color purity.
As with every product released this past few months, the TV will utilize AI for image optimization.
Having extreme brightness could be a big help in rooms with complex lighting and challenging reflections — rooms with many windows or bright ambient lights. It could also have big benefits in in-store applications and other industries.
We shall have official pricing and release details soon.
