Xiaomi’s Redmi Turbo 5 series is now official. There’s the Turbo 5 Max and the one we’ll be focusing on today, the vanilla Redmi Turbo 5.
The Redmi Turbo 5 got first dibs on the new MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra processor. It is paired with up to 16556 GB LPDDR5 Ultra RAM and 512GB UFS 4.1 storage. The chipset is mated to a beefy vapor chamber cooling system.
Xiaomi has included a large 7,560mAh battery with ultra-fast 100W wired charging. You can use the device like a power bank with its speedy 27W reverse charging, which is fast enough to recharge other devices and accessories comfortably.
For the display, we have a 6.59-inch AMOLED panel with a 1.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 3,500-nit peak brightness, and support for both HDR10+ and Dolby Vision.
Xiaomi covered all the essentials in the camera department, unless you find telephoto lenses important. We have a 50-megapixel IMX882 main sensor from Sony, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide, and 20-megapixels for selfies.
You can also expect a suite of essential AI features brought by the Android 16-based HyperOS 3.
The Redmi Turbo 5 is now listed in China and could arrive in the Philippines under a different name. The 12GB/256GB retails for CNY1,999 (~Php16,900), 12GB/512GB and 16GB/256GB for CNY2,299 (~Php19,500), and the 16GB/512GB for CNY2,599 (~Php22,000).
