The new chip utilizes Apple’s new Fusion Architecture that merges two 3rd-gen 3nm dies with advanced packaging. That includes a powerful CPU, scalable GPU, unified memory controller, Media Engine, Neural Engine, and Thunderbolt 5 capacity.

They feature a 16-core CPU that consists of 6 super cores and 12 all-new performance cores. As per Apple, the new chip offers up to 2.5x higher multithread performance than the M1 Pro and M1 Max. Both models have a 16-core NPU.
