The HONOR Magic9 Pro Max is out, and it’s the most powerful, feature-packed smartphone from the company.
HONOR’s latest has all the big numbers you’d expect from a 2026 flagship phone. For starters, the HONOR Magic9 Pro Max is one of the first smartphones to be powered by the 2nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor.
That chipset has 2x prime cores clocked at 5.01GHz, joined by 3x performance cores at 4.03GHz, and 3x more performance cores at 3.74GHz. There’s also an Adreno 850 GPU, up to 16GB of RAM, and 1TB UFS 4.1 storage.
You also get an enormous 8,800mAh silicon-carbon battery, aptly paired with 100W wired and 80W wireless charging.
There’s an equally large 6.8-inch LTPO OLED display, with a 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate, and a whopping 10,000-nit peak brightness. It runs on Android 17-based MagicOS 11 and is IP69K-rated for being dust- and water-resistant.
The camera department will be extra special thanks to ARRI, a prominent name for cinema cameras. The smartphone boasts ARRI image science, color profiles, and cinematic video filters. ARRI LogC3 Curve, full 10-bit color depth, and ARRI Wide Gamut 3 color space are also supported.
Both the main and telephoto cameras also boast CIPA 8.0 optical image stabilization, offering gimbal-like stabilization. It also works with the new 500mm and 200mm teleconverter lenses, a SmallRig cage, and a photography case with a handle and dedicated controls.
For the actual camera hardware, we’re looking at a 200-megapixel 1/1.28-inch main sensor with a bright f/1.6 aperture. There’s also a 200-megapixel periscope lens with an 85mm equivalent, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide, and a 55-megapixel selfie camera.
The HONOR Magic9 Pro Max is now listed in China with a starting price of CNY6,499 (~Php60,700) for the 12GB/256GB, while the top-of-the-line model with 16GB/1TB retails for CNY8,499 (~Php79,500). International release shall happen very soon.
