Apple just announced the latest MacBook Pro, bringing one of the biggest and highly-anticipated upgrades to the series.
The updated MacBook Pro introduces OLED panels to the series. Apple calls them PROLED XDR, their branding for the Tandem OLED technology we first saw on the iPad Pro models. It uses two layers of OLED panels for improved brightness.
This unlocks a peak brightness of up to 2,000 nits and 1,000 nits of sustained brightness. It also has 10Hz-120Hz variable refresh rates, P3 coverage, and Adobe RGB color gamut.
A big highlight here is the touchscreen support, a first on any Mac product. They also added a notch for the webcam. It is also called Dynamic Island and will have similar features to the one found on iPhones.
The newer models are also slightly smaller and about 200-300g lighter. Apple also said that the speakers offer 50% deeper bass. There’s also a built-in Apple Pro Display Calibrator and Apple Color Matching Function 2026.
Oh, and what got people really cheering is the Apple logo now glowing again. A comeback feature from old MacBooks.
It is available in 14-inch and 16-inch models with either an Apple M5 Pro or M5 Max chip. Apple also claims the battery can last for up to 24 hours.
The new MacBook Pro with 14-inch PROLED XDR display has a starting price of Php214,990 on Apple’s website, while the 16-inch model retails for Php249,990. Get it with a Nano-texture Glass for an extra Php9,750.
They will be available alongside the M6 MacBook Pro.
