Pokémon Unite is closing down. The Pokémon Company has confirmed that the game will end service on March 23, 2027, for both mobile and Nintendo Switch.

The 5v5 battle game launched in 2021 and was once one of the most popular Pokémon titles on Android, but its popularity has fallen over time.

Players can keep playing until the shutdown. A final update on November 12, 2026, will bring a thank-you event running until the game closes. During this event, players can trade their coins for old items such as Holowear and Unite licenses.

Some in-game purchases are already ending. From October 27, players can no longer buy Aeos gems or a new UNITE Club membership, though existing ones can be used until service ends.

The Aeos Crown 2027 Tokyo Competitive Tournament will still take place, with qualifiers starting December 5, 2026. A new library feature will also let users download their data before March 23 and view certain records and in-game content after the shutdown.
