Google-owned Fitbit has launched its latest smartband, the Fitbit Charge 6.
The new Fitbit Charge 6 offers better health-tracking with an updated heart-rate optical sensor, working in tandem with new electrical sensors and Google’s machine learning algorithms. The company claims that the new model should provide 60% more accurate heart-rate reading than its predecessor.
This new fitness band can be paired with different exercise machines for a more accurate and real-time heart rate data reading.
What’s more, the watch can also keep tabs on your blood oxygen (SpO2) levels, ECG, sleep quality, stress levels, skin temperature, and even breathing rate.
For exercising, the Charge 6 has over 40 workout modes and can do VO2 max readings. You can also use it to track your biking/running routes with the built-in GPS and GLONASS, and even your swimming stats as it’s 5ATM waterproof.
Fitbit has also improved its integration with Google apps. There’s the turn-by-turn direction on Google Maps, NFC for Google Wallet, media controls for Google Music, and more.
As for the hardware, the Fitbit Charge 6 has a compact 1.04-inch AMOLED display with an Always-On Display (AOD) function. Everything is housed inside an aluminum frame, with glass on top, and a haptic button on the side for controls. Fitbit claims that the battery can last for 7 days under normal use.
The Fitbit Charge 6 has a price of USD159.95 (~Php9,100) in the United States and is now available for pre-order on the company’s website. It comes in three colors: Obsidian, Porcelain, and Coral. The bands are removable if you want a different design to fit your style or activities.
