Xiaomi’s sub-brand released a successor to its smartwatch line with the new Redmi Watch 2.

The Redmi Watch 2 offers a couple of welcome upgrades. For starters, the screen is now at 1.6-inches, larger than last generation’s 1.4-inch display. Also, it now has a more vibrant and power-efficient AMOLED panel than its predecessor’s IPS screen. It now has a 360 x 260-pixel resolution.

Thanks to the screen and possibly other optimizations, the Watch 2 now has a longer battery life lasting up to 12 days on a single charge. Albeit, it still uses the same magnetic charger.

Health and activity tracking features include 117 sports modes that include swim tracking thanks to its 5ATM water resistance. The watch can also track your runs and bike rides with its GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, and BDS antennas. It also has heart-rate and blood-oxygen (SpO2) sensors.

Xiaomi was able to cram all those hardware while also managing to keep the weight down. It’s 4g lighter at 31g.

The Redmi Watch 2 has a starting price of CNY399 (around Php3,100) and will be available in China starting November 11. The watch comes in three colors, which you can mix and match with its 6 strap color options. Release details in markets like the Philippines are yet to be announced.
