Cherry Mobile is ramping up their line-up, just in time for the holiday season. After the budget versions of the Flare S6 goes official, new devices dubbed as the Cherry Mobile Flare J2 Lite and J7 Lite have been spotted.
As what you might expect, the Cherry Mobile Flare J2 Lite and J7 Lite pack nothing but the most boring set of specs. But the thing is, combined with its price tag, it aims to cater those who are looking for a basic smartphone to cover their basic needs.
The Cherry Mobile Flare J2 Lite has a 5-inch IPS display with an undisclosed resolution. If I were to guess, it will be an FWVGA (854 x 480 pixels), just like the similarly priced Flare S6 mini.
It’s powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, with an acceptable 1GB of RAM, and 8GB internal storage that can go up to 32GB via a microSD card. This is a chipset that can pretty much handle basic day-to-day tasks.
On the bright side, it’s running on a slightly dated Android 7.0 Nougat.
Cherry Mobile Flare J2 Lite Specs
- Android 7.0 Nougat
- Dual SIM
- 5-inch IPS display
- 1.2GHz quad-core processor
- 1GB RAM
- 8GB internal storage, expandable via microSD up to 32GB

- 8-megapixel rear camera
Furthermore, the Cherry Mobile Flare J7 Lite also has the same screen size and panel type. The device also runs on a quad-core processor, however, everything has been downgraded on this one.
The RAM capacity was not mentioned, but I do suspect that it’s at 512MB, if not 1GB. The cameras have also been downgraded to 2-megapixels and 5-megapixels in front and back, respectively. And probably the most disappointing of them all, it only runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
