MyPhone has an upcoming flagship android phone that is expected to set the competition on fire as it will be the first ever locally branded smartphone to sport an aluminum back cover. But is that all? No, it’s not. We have some official information that you should know. Check it out after the jump.
As some of you may know, we have a friend who has access to all sorts of MyPhone stuff that’s why we’ve been able to get official specs and other details ahead of its official announcement here on NoypiGeeks. Today, we’ve reached out to him again and he gladly gave us all the information that we’ve all been waiting for.
New naming scheme
Before anything else, let’s start with the name. My source told me that MyPhone is going to a new direction of naming their devices and they are now ditching the My Phone Axxx brand in this release. To start it out, they’ve decided to name this device as “MyPhone Agua Iceberg”. The name is literally cool, right?
No more Philippine Map on Smartphones
MyPhone listened to customer’s concerns as they will now start excluding the Philippine map on their future smartphones. However, feature and bar phones will continue to have it on their back covers. This issue has been discussed immensely throughout the web and on our comments section too. There are mixed opinions and it always come to a point where the nationalism of a person is being questioned. Well, at least the arguments will be put to rest now.

The MyPhone Agua Iceberg does have similar specifications as the Blu Life View BUT it has some new features that MyPhone added to the equation. - Clever Dial
- Flip to Mute
Theft Apprehension and Asset Recovery Application (TARA)
This is a built-in Anti-theft technology which can remotely disable your handset to secure your data in case the phone gets stolen or lost. TARA is a proudly Pinoy App and exclusive to MyPhone users.
Wireless Display
MyPhone Agua Iceberg will also have a TV-out like feature but is said to be wireless. There will be an accessory which will be sold separately after launch of the device. Our source is still confirming more information about this feature.
Price and Availability of MyPhone Agua Iceberg
The official launch is on July 26 and we’ve been invited to check it out there. Our insider didn’t give us a concrete information on pricing of the MyPhone Agua Iceberg just yet but he said ‘yes’ when I asked him if it’ll be on the 5-digit range. Stay tuned for more coverage on this new smartphone from MyPhone. Can you guess the price of this smartphone?
More Official Images [Update]
We’ve just received some official MyPhone Agua Iceberg images directly through our contacts with the local phone brand. If you’ve already read through this post, it doesn’t reveal anything new in terms of specs or features. However, we do get treated to some official renders of the Agua Iceberg. Enjoy ;)
Here’s another one with the complete product specifications. :)
The MyPhone Agua Iceberg will retail for Php12,000 and it will also be available for installment in the participating banks such as MetroBank, BPI, RCBC, and CitiBank.
*More photos will be added later as soon as we get them. * UPDATED.
Silent but deadly ang Myphone. Gusto ko tuloy benta OHD2 ko para dito. :(
sa ibang blog, sabi eh nasa P12k+
On launch day, it will be P499/month for 2 years on CC.
If paid in cash, I bet it will be in the P10-11k range.
And didn’t say if it’s expandable.
It says…
16GB internal storage, no microSD support
definitely a good buy if priced below 13k.
this should blow any local competitor out of the water.
synthetic benchmarks of the MT6589 is just a bit lower compared to the Exynos 4412 of the N7100, but it can definitely manage any task you throw at it.
hope to get a hands-on with the unit soon.
below 10k .
Agua Iceberg! Isn’t it sensical enough? Maybe there could be a Soda Iceberg, Coffee Iceberg, Tea Iceberg, and whatnot. :D
WOW!
ayooooooooos! no more myphone maps… ahihihihi
11,999 to 12,999 pesos
Looking good…but the 1GB RAM is too small and 1280×720 on a 5.7-inch screen is not that good.
Dont judge it yet until uve seen it 1st…kung gsto mo ng mataas na ram at mataas na reso buy a note2..ilalabas ba ng myphone yan kung “not that good”…palitan mo na lang kaya mga developers ng MP
Tama, and as the price is released soon, You will see the worth of the unit compared to other brand. Adios mustos
xcuse me po,, ask q lng po f removable bah ang battery nito?,, tnx for ur immediate reply :)
Sungit mo sir, tama ka, do not judge the cover.
Puso mo. Hahahahaha
Feeling technical naman to oh. Please don’t pull strings from your arse. Everyone knows that 2++ ppi is enough for everyone(note 2 is awesome btw same ppi) and the 1GB of ram is usually enough of everyday tasks unless you’re running a full fledged autocad. Go stick to your own phone and play candy crush.
1GB is too little for my Galaxy Nexus – it will be too little for this one.
And it’s EASY to see the difference between 220ppi and 320ppi on 5.7″
Affected much ka rin? Lol
“MyPhone can produce phones with more than 1GB of RAM” – not at the price point they’re aiming for.
“I believe that a 5.7″ screen is not necessary.” – then this isn’t the phone for you. they’re trying to appeal to the phablet consumers.
Well, that’s true. :) Honestly, between this and Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 which is currently priced at P16.5k at Widget City, I’d choose Iceberg. If you compare the specs and price, Iceberg comes out as the winner.
