Samsung’s first charmers for 2018 are finally here in the Philippines. The new Samsung Galaxy A8 and A8+ (2018) have the flagship look and feel to it, but with slightly toned down specs to keep their prices grounded.
Both devices flaunt a Super AMOLED Infinity display with a 2220 x 1080 pixel resolution. However, the Samsung Galaxy A8 and A8+ (2018) differs in screen size. They boast a 5.6-inch and 6-inch displays, respectively.
And since it has a larger body, the A8+ accommodates a bigger 3500mAh battery while the former runs on a smaller 3,000mAh battery capacity.
Both smartphones are powered by an Exynos 7885 hexa-core processor, with the regular A8 variant getting 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. On the other hand, the A8+ has 50% more RAM and 100% more storage with its 6GB RAM + 64GB storage configuration.
And probably the highlight of the new Galaxy A8 devices are their dual front cameras. There are the 8-megapixel and a 16-megapixel camera, one with a wide-angle lens. And when used together, it unlocks the Live Focus feature that we saw on the Note 8.
Moreover, new Galaxies will have a slew of flagship features that you’d expect from a high-end Samsung device. It has a glass and metal build, fingerprint scanner, facial recognition, Bixby, IP68 water resistance, and more.
