Honor just unveiled its latest flagships for 2022, the Honor 70 series. This new line-up comes with a vanilla model, but for this one, we’ll be taking a look at its bigger brothers, the Honor 70 Pro and Pro Plus.

Both the Honor 70 Pro and 70 Pro Plus are essentially the same. They only differ in one key area: processor. With the Plus model, you are getting a powerful MediaTek Dimensity 9000 processor. It is a 4nm chip that boasts a Cortex-X2 core clocked at 3.05GHz, three A710, and four A510 cores. It also comes with a Mali-G710 MC10 GPU and 6GHz 5G modem.

Honor 70 Pro

On the other hand, the Honor 70 Pro uses a still respectable Dimensity 8000 CPU. This midrange chip came from a 5nm process, consisting of the standard Cortex-A55 and A78 efficiency and performance cores, but with a modern Mali-G610 MC6 GPU.

Everything else is the same. There’s the large 6.78-inch OLED display that offers 10-bit color, a fast 120Hz refresh rate, and a whopping 1,920Hz high-frequency PWM dimming.

The duo comes with the latest 54-megapixel Sony IMX800 1/1.49-inch sensor. That’s for the main shooter. It is joined by a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens that also works as a macro camera.

For the full flagship feel, the trifecta is completed by an 8-megapixel telephoto lens that sits on an OIS with 3x optical zoom. On the front, we also have an ultra-sharp 50-megapixel selfie snapper with a 100-degree wide lens.

More than the hardware, all of the new Honor 70 devices will come with Vlog mode that utilizes AI and a wide field-of-view to ensure the subject stays in frame, both from the front and rear cameras.

The Pro models also come with a 4,500mAh battery. Not the biggest, but paired with its ultra-fast 100W charging, you can get a full 100% charge in only half an hour.

Initially available in China, the Honor 70 Pro is available in 8GB/256GB, 12GB/256GB, and 12GB/512GB variants for a price of CNY3,699 (around Php29,100), CNY3,999 (around Php31,500), and CNY4,399 (around Php34,600), respectively. It’s now up for pre-order and will be available on June 10.

The Pro Plus model starts at CNY4,299 (around Php33,800) for the 8GB/256GB and CNY4,599 (around Php36,200) for the 12GB/256GB. Sale starts on June 16 in China while release details in markets like the Philippines are yet to be announced.
