The Honor Magic 4 and 4 Pro have been introduced at MWC 2022 as the brand’s flagships for the year.
Both the Honor Magic 4 and 4 Pro will feature the current-best Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor from Qualcomm and 50-megapixel main cameras. But being the more expensive model, the Pro variant will boast a couple of interesting features.
First, the Pro variant enjoys an LTPO OLED panel with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and a pill-shaped punch-hole for the 12-megapixel selfie camera and 3D depth sensor. It also has curves all around for a more premium look and feel.
On the other hand, the vanilla Magic 4 will only have curves on the sides and has a smaller cutout as it lacks a secondary camera sensor. Still, it shares the same 6.81-inch size, can go as high as 1,000-nits of brightness, and boasts a 1920Hz PWM dimming feature.
The Honor Magic 4 Pro has a periscope-style telephoto lens at 64-megapixels that can do up to 100x digital zoom. Meanwhile, the non-Pro variant also has a periscope telephoto lens that can 5x zoom in front of an 8-megapixel sensor.
Still, both models will have 50-megapixel 1/1.56-inch main cameras. They also have 50-megapixel ultra-wide shooters, albeit with a smaller 1/2.5-inch sensor size. Also onboard are ToF and flicker sensors.
Another difference between the two is the charging speeds. The Pro variant enjoys a whopping 100W charging — that’s for both wired and wireless. As per the company, they can fill up the device’s 4,600mAh battery from 0 to 100 in just half an hour.
The non-Pro model has a slower but still impressive 66W charging, but it does have a slightly larger 4,800mAh battery. Another worth-noting difference is the water protection as they have IP68 and IP54 ratings, respectively.
Besides the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 CPU, both phones can be had with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. GPU Turbo X graphics acceleration is also on board as if the chipset is not powerful enough to run games smoothly.
Oh, and since this is a global release, the duo will ship with Android 12 with Magic UI 6.0 on top.
The Honor Magic 4 Pro has a starting price of EUR1,099 (around Php63,100) for the 8GB/256GB variant, while the Honor Magic 4 begins at EUR899 (around Php51,600). They will be available in select markets in Q2 2022.
