HONOR has unveiled the sequel to their first foldable phone. Here we have the Magic V2, which is already getting some attention as it’s the thinnest foldable in the market at only 9.9mm when folded or 4.7mm when opened.
The new HONOR Magic V2 utilizes a gearless unibody hinge mechanism with HONOR‘s 3D-printed titanium alloy cover. But unlike Samsung’s popular foldable phones, this one doesn’t have an official water or dust protection rating, albeit it does have a special P2i coating from accidental water splashes.
Of course, the highlight here is the large 7.92-inch LTPO OLED main screen, with a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, 3,840Hz PWM dimming, its own 16-megapixel selfie camera, and support for styluses.
We then have the tall 6.43-inch cover screen. It’s an OLED panel with a 2376 x 1060 pixel resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. PWM dimming is also present.
Under the hood, it’s powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, with an overclocked Cortext-X3 prime core at 3.36GHz.
On the back, we have a sharp 50-megapixel primary camera with OIS, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide, and a 20-megapixel telephoto lens with 2.5x zoom.
Keeping the lights on is a 5,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, which means that HONOR could achieve such capacity while keeping the size small. It’s paired with 66W charging.
Of course, it will ship with Android 13-based MagicOS 7.2. Complete with Google Mobile Services.
The HONOR Magic V2 has a price of CNY8,999 (~Php68,500) for the 12GB/256GB, CNY9,999 (~Php76,100) for the 12GB/512GB, and CNY11,999 (~Php91,300) for the 16GB/1TB. It will be available in China come July 20, with the global release yet to be known.
