HUAWEI’s latest foldable phone, the Mate X3, has been announced, and it comes with a couple of impressive features — especially on the build quality.
The new HUAWEI Mate X3 is now IPX8 waterproof, much like the Galaxy Z Fold 4. The best part is, it’s actually 24g lighter than Samsung’s foldable phone.
For the main screen, we have a 7.85-inch display with a 2496 x 2224 pixel resolution, an 8:7.1 aspect ratio. Meanwhile, the cover screen is a 6.4-inch in size and has a 2504 x 1080 pixel resolution. Both screens have 120Hz refresh rates.
The hinge can fold the screen so that it close down flat, with no gaps. HUAWEI also claims that the display doesn’t have a crease.
Under the hood, the Mate X3 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor with 12GB of RAM. No 5G, though. There’s also a 4,800mAh battery with 66W wired and 50W wireless charging.
It has five cameras in total. There are two 8-megapixel selfie cameras on each display. Then, a 50-megapixel main camera on the back, joined by a 12-megapixel telephoto and 13-megapixel ultra-wide.
The HUAWEI Mate X3 has a price of CNY12,999 (~Php103,400) in China for the 12GB/256GB model, CNY13,999 (~Php111,400) for the 12GB/512GB, and CNY15,999 (~Php127,300) for the 12GB/1TB. It will be initially available in China with the global release yet to be announced.
