Huawei outs another budget tablet and it’s a direct cheaper alternative to its flagship line. Meet the Huawei MatePad SE.
The Huawei MatePad SE offers a couple of highlight features, despite its rather underwhelming hardware. For starters, it runs on the brand’s own HarmonyOS 2 — so there’s that.
Huawei also brags its large screen, which is a 10.1-inch IPS panel with a 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution. To go with it, the device also has large-amplitude dual speakers.
Like a lot of affordable tablets, Huawei is marketing this device to students. This is why it comes with the New Education Center, which has tons of entertaining learning materials.
The Education Center comes with things like dictionaries, AI class schedules, and more. Parents can also control the content the kids can access, set time management, and more.
And to ensure your kids’ eyes are safe, it’s been certified by TUV Rheinland for having low blue light emission.
For the specs heads out there, the MatePad SE is powered by the Kirin 710A processor, the same chip that’s powering Huawei phones and tablets for a couple of years now.
It may be old, but it does come with LTE connectivity for those who are always on the go or don’t have access to WiFi. It is coupled with 128GB of expandable storage and 4GB of RAM.

The Huawei MatePad SE starts at CNY1,499 (around Php11,900) for the WiFi-only version while the LTE variant is at CNY1,699 (around Php13,500). Both have the same 4GB/128GB configurations.
